A
ghostwriter writes your book or article, but you get all the credit. A
ghostwriter takes your creative ideas and turns them into a magazine
article, a self-help book, a book on how to, a speech, a brochure,
with dynamite sales copy, a tips booklet - the possibilities are
endless.
You've got the idea!
Now you need to turn it into great writing. And that's what I'll do
for you; take your idea and turn it into writing that exceeds the
reader's expectations.
Remember, I do the
work, but you get all the credit. You own
all the rights. It's an honorable
way to get your best ideas into written form for your audience.
Here's what one
satisfied customer said:
| "Over
a five week period of time I would meet with Anne once
a week. Each week she would give us her writing
based on the conversation we had the previous week. Each
week I marveled at her result. The only thing I
could think of saying was, "did you write that or
did I? That was exactly what I wanted to say"; and she
said it better than I could have said it. THANK YOU!!!"

Ghostwriting is also a tricky relationship.
That is, as your ghost, I have to write in your voice. There's a fair amount
of back-and-forth and although I'm very good at ghosting, I don't take on
every project.
What you need before you
hire a ghostwriter:
You need a have a
clear vision of your book, including:
- Why you're writing
it
- What you expect to
get from it
- Who your audience
is
You may not have
answers to everything, but you must be clear on these three before
you hire a ghost.
What happens when
you hire a ghostwriter
You and the ghost
agree on:
- the description of
the project
- how much you will
pay the ghost and how
- how you'll get the
information to the ghost
- a rough schedule
Then the writing work
begins. Depending on the exact arrangements, there may be
face-to-face meetings or telephone conversations or emails exchanged
as the ghostwriting project progresses. Each project is highly
individual.
What Does
Ghostwriting Cost?
Asking how much
ghostwriting costs is sort of like asking "how long is a piece
of string." The price varies, but generally starts at about
$10,000 and can go as high as $50,000.
Will You Take A
Percentage Instead?
Never instead, but
once and a while I'll reduce the cost for a percentage of the
project provided:
- You have a great
marketing plan
- Or you already
have a contract with a trade publisher
- And I think the
idea has huge potential.
But feel free to ask.
